TEDDY ROOSEVELT

The Constitution Center credited Teddy Roosevelt as “one of the most dynamic presidents” the White House has ever had. With an IQ of 153, he was one of the smartest as well. He came from a wealthy family and studied at Harvard and Columbia Law School, although he was not able to graduate from the latter. He won a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in the Russo-Japanese War and is dubbed the Father of the U.S. Navy.

What’s even more interesting about Roosevelt is that he banned Christmas trees from the White House during his time in office. As a serious conservationist, he saw the Christmas tree as contributing to deforestation, which is why he refused to have a tree inside the White House. Unfortunately for him, his sneaky child, eight-year-old Archibald, was not a fan of the house rules and hid a little tree in his closet during Christmas Day 1902.
